A small, single-story house in Wexford town with a tragic backstory has been listed for sale.
No. 53 John Street Wexford town was once home to 61-year-old Alan Moore, whose body was found in a decomposed state after lying in his home for three months.
Originally from Manchester in the UK, Mr Moore lived a solitary life and had "very little connection with his family or the people around him" since moving to Wexford in 2002.
On March 18th, 2012 his body was discovered by Gardaí after a member of the public became concerned about the presence of Christmas lights and flies in the window of the property.
A postmortem concluded that it was likely that the individual suffered from cardiac arrest.
His family were eventually contacted with the help of Interpol. According to an Irish Examiner report at the time, no family belonging to Mr Moore were present at his death inquest.
Ten years on from the tragic incident which caused great upset across the South East, Mr Moore's property is now up for sale.
According to a listing on myhome.ie, the property has been granted planning permission to demolish the existing dwelling and reconstruct entirely on the original footprint.
