The League of Ireland has confirmed that tonight’s (Friday, July 14) SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division clash between Treaty United and Waterford has been postponed.

The decision was taken due to an unplayable pitch, which has been caused by adverse weather conditions.

A pitch inspection was held at the ground at 1:30 pm, with poor weather conditions forecasted by Met Eireann for the remainder of the day.

Details of the rescheduled fixture will be announced in due course.

Oluwa leaves the Blues on loan for the remainder of the season

Meanwhile, Waterford player Thomas Oluwa has made the short trip to rivals Wexford FC for a season-long loan.

The talented player has clocked up close to 100 appearances across the First Division and Premier Divison.

A statement from the official Wexford website reads: "We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Thomas Oluwa from Waterford FC!

"Oluwa has been a familiar face around the League of Ireland for many seasons – making his debut for Shamrock Rovers in the Premier Division back in 2019!

"Since then, he has become a familiar threat to defences around the country – lining out for Bohemians, Galway Utd, Larne, Athlone Town and Waterford FC.

"Oluwa blossomed in 2022 with Athlone, netting 11 goals in the season with the Midlands side.

"Thomas also brings a good level of experience now, with almost 100 senior appearances under his belt across 6 senior seasons, including a Europa League appearance with Shamrock Rovers back in 2019!"
