The highly anticipated Waterford Viking Marathon, Half Marathon and Quarter Marathon take place tomorrow (Sunday, June 25), kicking off outside City Hall on the Mall at 9 am.
The annual event will travel up the Quay and over Rice Bridge, moving swiftly over Suir Bridge and blazing towards Mount Congreve before heading back to the finish at Grattan Quay past Rice Bridge.
The excitement is building in Waterford, with a host of athletes taking part in a variety of categories.
For those unable to attend, there will be a virtual event as an option that began yesterday (Friday, June 23) and runs until Monday, June 26.
A collection of entries are anticipated across each category, with multiple charities set to benefit from the event.
Runners from all over the county and beyond are invited to choose their goals. Additionally, registering participants will have the option to raise funds for WVM 2023 charity partner Irish Guide Dogs, or a charity of their choice.
The official site offers the opportunity to set up a fundraising page which can be accessed here.
As always, traffic restrictions will be in place around the route, so drivers are asked to consider their journey beforehand.
