Beat’s Coffin Lock-In at Loftus Hall

The following rules (“Rules”) combined with Beat 102-103’s general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at www.Beat102103.com apply to the “Coffin Lock-In” competition ("the Competition") which will run from October 17th 2018 – October 31st 2018 (“the Duration”). The "Radio Station" is Beat 102-103.
Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the general competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. The Terms and Conditions are available on our website and on request from the Radio Station.
- Details of the Competition
1.1 For the duration of the Competition, listeners of Beat 102-103 will be invited to enter the Competition by registering via an online form on the website. This competition is open to anyone aged 18+. Entrants must reside in the South East of Ireland. No station personnel or clients taking part including family and friends of the station personnel or client are eligible to enter or vote on this competition.
1.2 Entrants who wish to enter must do so between Wednesday 17th October at 8am and Tuesday, October 30th 2018 at midday.
1.3 Once Entrants have registered, Beat 102-103 will choose participants. Entrants will also need to show a clear willingness to adhere to all terms and conditions set out by Beat 102-103.
1.4 Entrants must attend the Competition location in Loftus Hall, Co. Wexford if selected by Beat 102-103 to take part at the time mutually agreed.
1.5 Only Beat 102-103 staff and the participants may enter the unit. No family or friends will be permitted entry except in an emergency and during the finale.
1.6 Participants will enter the coffin at a time dictated by a Beat 102-103 staff member.
1.7 The clock will begin once participants are in the coffin and the lid has been closed.
1.8 Entrants may not bring any items with them into the coffin and can only communicate with people approved by Beat while in the coffin. All personal effects must be left with a Beat staff member. They will be asked to turn out their pockets in advance of participation. Phones must be turned off before they are passed over. Entrants will be physically checked by a qualified first aid person. Entrants will have to complete the medical screening form before being considered eligible to enter the coffin.
1.9 Participants must stay in the coffin for what they believe to be an hour. They will have no assistance in judging the time, either from inside or outside the coffin.
1.10 When a participant believes that sufficient time has passed, they will press a button indicating that the clock should stop and they’re ready to exit the coffin.
2 Declaring the winner
2.1 The objective of the competition is to be the person who stays in the coffin for closest to an hour. The clock must not exceed 60 minutes. If the clock goes over an hour, the participant’s time will not be counted and they will be deemed ineligible to win.
2.2 Each contestant will be ranked on the Coffin Lock-In leaderboard and the top 2 times closed but not over 60 minutes will take part in the final.
2.3 In the final, the person who gets closest to 60 minutes will win. The rule stating the clock must not go over 60 minutes will not count in the final.
2.4 The winner will receive a prize of €1,000 cash. Decision on selection of winner will be the responsibility of Beat 102 103 representatives.
2.5 All participants may be required to participate in related publicity, both on Beat 102 103 and other media.
- During the Competition, Beat 102-103 reserves the right to disqualify a Contestant:
- following medical advice from its medical representative; or
- If in the reasonable opinion of Beat 102-103, the Contestant seems unfit, unwell or unable to continue with the Competition; or where the continued participation of the contestant poses an appreciable risk of harm or injury to themselves or others.
3.1 Contestants will be automatically disqualified for:
Any breach of the rules governing the Competition as set out herein;
Any unlawful acts committed by any Contestant during the Competition;
Any interference with the other Contestant’s participation in the Competition;
Any Violent or Abusive behaviour towards anyone involved in the competition.
3.2 The medical screening form must be filled out before you take part in the Competition. Beat 102-103 has the right to exclude people from taking part if they deem them unfit to do so.
- Prize
4.1 All decisions of the Beat 102-103 representatives will be final and binding on the entrants and no correspondence will be entered into regarding any decision made.
4.2 If you win, you agree to take part in promotional activity as advised by Beat 102-103 and Loftus Hall, Co. Wexford. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of the prize.
- Health & Safety
5.1 By signing the medical screening form, the contestant confirms and warrants that, to the best of their knowledge, their general state of health is good and they have no medical condition that could be adversely affected by strenuous exercise or any of the events or activities planned or reasonably expected to be involved in during the promotion.
5.4 The contestant must notify Beat 102-103 of any medical or other condition which may mean that they are deemed unfit to participate in the promotion as soon as they become aware of same.
- Illness/Injury
6.1 Unless caused by the negligence of the organizers, their staff or persons acting under their control, Beat 102-103 & Loftus Hall, Co. Wexford accepts no responsibility for death, physical injury or illness suffered by any competitor as a result of their participation in the Competition.
6.2 The contestant warrants that they have read Beat 102-103 general competition terms and conditions appearing on the website www.beat102103.com and confirms that they agree to these.
6.3 This Agreement is governed by the laws of Republic of Ireland whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in respect of any dispute hereunder.
