Gaelic football has never been the strongest GAA code in Kilkenny, but today's result is sure to get people talking about the future of the sport in the county.
The Cats took on South East neighbours Wexford in the 1st Round of the Leinster Minor Football Championship this afternoon, and the full-time score was Wexford 17-20 Kilkenny 0-0.
A 71 point win.

Sadly this scoreline does raise some questions. Neither side benefits from a game like this and you would hope efforts will be made to ensure such a match doesn't happen again.
Our commiserations to the young Kilkenny footballers who we are sure were honoured to represent their county and wear the black and amber. Well done to Wexford and fingers crossed for more success for them later in the Championship.
