The World Athletics Championships are continuing in Oregon this weekend.
After securing a place in the semi finals of the 400 metre hurdles on Saturday night, Waterford's Thomas Barr is confident he can progress further.
The 29-year-old clocked a season's best 49.15 to finish second in heat 4 behind Estonian Rasmus Magi.
He said he's happy to be into the semi final as he didn't think he would even be at the championships after he missed about five weeks of training due to an achilles tendon injury he picked up in May
He is due to race at approximately 2am Irish Time tomorrow morning.
Barr took to twitter to thank his fans for all their messages while re-sharing an interview with journalist Cathal Dennehy.
Thank you for all the messages! It’s good to be back, and relieved to be through to tomorrows semifinal where it’s all to play for. Felt good out there today and I feel there’s lots more in the tank! Rinse and repeat… 🙏🏻 https://t.co/c8ilmS12UR
