Ben of Paddock Eye reports:
Citroen Racing’s Craig Breen ended Tour De Corse, round three of the 2017 World Rally Championship, in fifth place following a strong event for the Waterford native.
Breen went into the final day in fourth place overall following his teammate Kris Meeke’s retirement from the event on Saturday with engine failure.
Breen ended the rally just one-tenth of a second behind Toyota’s Yari Matti Latvala who finished in fourth place.
Breen, who was taking part in only his second event this season has moved into sixth place in the championship and is now the leading Citroen driver in the standings before heading to Argentina later this month.
Following the rally, Breen said that he had no regrets and that he tried his best in the event.
The Waterford native was also delighted as he had no mistakes during the weekend and he feels that this is something that he and the team can build on.
