A ten-year-old kickboxer from Dungarvan has won gold in her division at the Unified World Kickboxing Championships, Turin.
Rihanna Lynch won gold in the low-kick division, before going on to take silver in the light contact class on Sunday last.
The 10-year-old from Dungarvan wasn't the only successful competitor at the event, with fellow club member, Scott Lennon (14), beating a tough Italian opponent in the light contact division on his way to earning a second spot on the podium.
Speaking to Beat 102-103, trainer at Deise Kickboxing Club, Vinny O'Brien, said: "This is the biggest event of its kind in the world with competitors from 108 countries taking part. I've been told that there are almost 10,000 quality competitors all vying for medals. It's an incredible achievement for our team to do so well."
