An official club statement reads: "Waterford FC can confirm that two fixtures will be played out in Dubai during the team’s pre-season tour in the United Arab Emirates.
"Danny Searle’s side will head out to Dubai on Sunday 22 January 2023 for a week-long training camp ahead of the new season.
"With matches against Hibernians, and Tramore already been played, and Midleton to come this weekend in the Munster Senior Cup Quarter-Final at the RSC, two more fixtures have been added to the schedule.
"Waterford FC will play Green Herron FC – a UAE Third Division side – on Tuesday 24 January at 8:30 pm (4:30 pm GMT), with this fixture to be played at the JA Sports Centre.
"The Blues will then play again on Friday 27 January at the same time, this time against Fleetwood Town’s sister club, Fleetwood United – who are in the UAE Second Division. This will take place once again at the JA Sports Centre.
"The Club will be covering the week-long training camp in Dubai, as well as both matches on their social media channels."
The mood around the RSC is extremely positive, bolstered by yesterday's news that Eddie Nolan has re-signed for the 2023 season.
The experienced defender rejoins Danny Searle's squad ahead of the club's promotion push for the upcoming campaign.
Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, Nolan said: "I am delighted to have signed a new contract with my hometown club.
"We all want promotion and getting the club back to where it should be and that’s our aim for 2023.
"The gaffer is putting together a really competitive squad; I’m really happy to be part of that and I can’t wait to get the season going"
Waterford begin the 2023 campaign with a trip to South East rivals Wexford on February 17.
