A video has surfaced on social media showing Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner wishing a Kilkenny GAA team his best wishes ahead of last Sunday's Kilkenny intermediate hurling final.
The much-loved F1 team principal and star of the Netflix series Drive To Survive planted his flag firmly in the Danesfort camp as he drove home words of encouragement ahead of their big game at Nowlan Park.
Speaking to the camera, Guenther joked: "I need help with the reading because I cannot remember the names, they're all new and the sport is new, but I'm told it's a fantastic sport".
On reading the message sent to the team principal, he continued, "Come on Danesfort! Legends! Let's make magic and win the Kilkenny GAA hurling final! Let's go guys – we can do it!"
The clip has since surfaced on Twitter thanks to Danesfort player Paul Murphy, and can be viewed below:

It seems that Guenther's encouragement worked as Danesfort battled hard into extra time to claim a 1-36 to 4-25 win over a valiant Thomastown.
