Tipperary All-Star Darren Gleeson has announced his retirement from inter-county hurling at the age of 36.
In a statement last night, the 2 time All Ireland-winning hurler explained that "the demands of playing inter-county hurling are significant on family and personal time".
The Tipperary hurler has spent the past 10 years on the county's hurling panel and thanked the managers, backroom teams, GPA, family, friends and his fellow Portroe club man, Liam Sheedy, who placed Gleeson on the Tipperary senior hurling panel when he became the county's manager in 2007.
