Waterford GAA have confirmed this morning that Shane Fives has retired from Intercounty hurling.
Fives calls to a close a 13-year stint with the Déise intercounty squad, which saw him capture the Munster title in 2010, as well as being part of the 2015 side that won the National Hurling League.
The Tourin corner-back has had a varied career, playing a period of club hurling with East Cork side Carrigtwohill, and winning a Railway Cup title with Munster.
