It wasn't just the Waterford hurlers who won today - there was good news in athletics too.
Thomas Barr won his seventh national 400m hurdle title this afternoon at the national championships in Dublin.
Thomas Barr was made to work very hard for that by Paul Byrne! Great race to start our coverage of the national championships on @RTE2. pic.twitter.com/Y3NdvVNYMV

Thomas was just short of his championship best performance, running in at 49.79 in a tight race against his training partner Paul Byrne.
Delighted to be coming back into form at the right time. @pbyrne4H made it some race!!! Coach Hayley happy with today's haul 😉😉. pic.twitter.com/MwIA2BjQh8

It's a great send off for the World Athletics Championships in London which kick off on August 4th.
