The discussions come as no surprise, given the fallout from the striker's explosive interview with Sky in Italy last December.
The interview caught Chelsea by surprise, given the Belgians decision to directly contact the journalist.
Lukaku would criticise the managers system and angled toward a lack of appreciation of his talents.
At the time of recording, he was not currently playing and was recovering from COVID.

The Striker arrived in London for an extraordinary £97.5 million last Summer and has struggled to live up to the expectation at the club.
As a result, he saw a struggle for game time under Thomas Tuchel - despite finishing the season as the club's top scorer with 15 goals.
Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta says the club are in "no rush" over Lukaku's potential return but remain keen on re-signing him this summer.
