Nathan Collins has achieved another memorable moment in his young career, as the 22-year-old was awarded Ireland’s senior international player of the year at the FAI Awards yesterday evening.
Collins saw off competition from Josh Cullen and Waterford's Jayson Molumby to claim the prestigious award.

Meanwhile, Courtney Brosnan was named senior women's international player of the year. The Everton goalkeeper continues to impress for club and country.
As many expected, teen sensation Evan Ferguson was named young men’s Player of the Year, with the 18-year-old finding the net against Gibraltar in his latest outing for the Boys in Green.
The inaugural young women's Player of the Year award went to Heather Payne.
The SSE Airtricity League Player of the Year was awarded to Shamrock Rovers hitman Rory Gaffney. He supplied 18 goal contributions across 35 League of Ireland appearances in 2022.

Amber Barrett's historic Scotland strike recognised
Amber Barrett's iconic goal for the Republic of Ireland against Scotland in Hampden Park was awarded the International Goal of the Year.
Denise O'Sullivans pin-point pass was met with the perfect first touch from Barrett, igniting scenes of jubilation from the travelling support as Vera Pauw's side secured qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.

The goal was selected by a collection of Soccer Writers' Ireland members, ahead of two strikes from the Ireland Men's National Team: Nathan Collins' magnificent solo effort away to Ukraine and Michael Obafemi's Ronaldo-like finish at home to Scotland.
