Leona Maguire has confirmed she will be in the field for next month's women's Irish Open.
The Cavan golfer will tee it up at Dromoland Castle at the end of September.
It is the first time that the event will be held in ten years.
Can’t wait to play in next months @womensirishopen!
It is great to see a home event back on the LET schedule after a decade and I’m really looking forward to to teeing it up at @dromolandgolf in front of the best fans in the world. See you all next month! ??? pic.twitter.com/osQ0fG2I5K— Leona Maguire (@leona_maguire) August 26, 2022
As reported by RTÉ Sport, Maguire will be the star attraction at the KPMG Women's Irish Open next month.
Catriona Matthew topped the leaderboard at Killeen Castle a decade ago when the tournament was last contested.
Solheim Cup star Maguire currently finds herself occupying a career-high ranking of 16 in the world, thanks in no small part to her breakthrough victory in the LPGA Drive On Championship in Florida in February and top-10 finishes at the US Women's Open and the Women's Open.
"I am very excited to play in this year's KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Dromoland Castle," Maguire told the LET official website.
"I have heard amazing things about what they are doing at Dromoland with their investment into the course and I cannot wait to play again in front of the Irish fans.
"See you all at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open in a few weeks."
