Keith Long's men enjoyed a 6-1 victory against Dave Rogers team to maintain a ten-point lead on third-placed Cobh.

Adam Queally also made his first-team debut on the night, securing an impressive academy representation of eight past or present academy players.

Elsewhere, Galway United continued their charge toward Premier football with a 1-0 victory at home to Kerry FC.

It was a dogged performance from the visitors and John Caulfield's side was made to work for their three points.

The result maintains their 13-point lead at the top of the table, with Galway winning 19 of their 21 games in 2023.

Cobh enjoyed an away victory in Athlone, seeing off the hosts by a scoreline of 3-2.

The win makes it six from six since the victory against Waterford, with a six-point lead on fourth-placed Athlone.

The night's final game saw the points shared between Treaty United and Bray Wanderers.

An entertaining game ended 1-1 at Markets Field, with Bray failing to maximize their advantage on those chasing the final promotion playoff spot.

James Keddy's Wexford is involved in Saturday's only fixture, with an away trip to Longford Town this evening.

A win would close the gap on Bray to a solitary point and allow breathing space on Treaty in seventh place.

The action gets underway at 7:30 pm in Bishopsgate.
