Waterford FC were left frustrated on their travels to Athlone and had to wait until stoppage time to seal a point with a one-all draw.
Keith Long's side fell a goal behind after 28 minutes when Jamar Campion-Hinds found the back of the net.
A somewhat disjointed display by the visitors left them chasing an equaliser throughout, finally levelling in the third minute of stoppage time through Cameron Cresswell.
