The newly acquired hitman is quickly becoming a fan-favourite in Wexford and added to his stock by calmly rounding the keeper and rewarding the loyal contingent in the South East.

Next up for Wexford is a trip to Cork on Friday, August 4, for a tie against the impressive Cobh Ramblers.

Waterford FC were left frustrated on their travels to Athlone and had to wait until stoppage time to seal a point with a one-all draw.

Keith Long's side fell a goal behind after 28 minutes when Jamar Campion-Hinds found the back of the net.

A somewhat disjointed display by the visitors left them chasing an equaliser throughout,  finally levelling in the third minute of stoppage time through Cameron Cresswell.

The result increased the deficit on first-place Galway United to 18 points with a game in hand over the Westerners.

Next up for the Blues is a home tie against Kerry FC at the RSC on Friday, July 4.

There is simply no stopping John Caulfield's Galway after another impressive evening saw them notch a three-nil win at Eamonn Deacy Park against Bray Wanderers.

The result extended their lead at the top and also benefitted Wexford who leap-frogged Ian Ryan's side into fifth position.

The night's final result was played in Mounthawk Park between Kerry FC and Finn Harps.

An entertaining fixture ended in defeat for the hosts, with Harps enjoying a two-one-road victory.

The week's final fixture will play out this evening (Saturday, July 29) between Longford and Cobh Ramblers.

Action is set to kick off at Bishopsgate at 7:30 pm.
