A social media post by the BBC has received a backlash from Irish readers, with many appalled by what they've read.
The post referenced Cristiano Ronaldo 'throwing a bit of a paddy' when he refused to take the field as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.

A Twitter user observed the post and immediately responded: "Excuse me, throwing a bit of a what? What the hell is this from the BBC in 2022?"
As reported by the Irish Mirror, his view was shared by thousands of his compatriots, with his post receiving a significant response.
As of yet, there has not been any comment from the BBC in relation to the incident.
