The final preliminary hearing, before Ryan Giggs faces trial for alleged assault and coercive behaviour, has been held at Manchester Crown Court.
Giggs was not required to attend the hearing which set out a timetable for trial.
Judge Hilary Manley said: "I have made the directions that I have, the trial is listed for August 8.
"The defendant's attendance was excused today but he is obviously aware of the trial date."
