My Unknown Eating Disorder is a two part Beat News documentary by Megan O'Brien that explores some of the less well known eating disorders and body image conditions. It also addresses the conversation around the lack of services in Ireland for those struggling.
In it, we hear from Keith Russell, host of the Endless Spiral Podcast who shares his story of binge eating and body dysmorphia. We also hear from Shonagh Holden who has ARFID; which for her means she has eaten the same ten foods since she was two years old.
The Minister for Mental Health Mary Butler speaks about the services available and talks about the government's commitments to investing in these supports in coming years. And, body image expert Dr. Michelle O'Gorman talks about treatment and recovery as well as sharing some of her own personal experiences of anorexia nervosa.
