A young Wexford man has lost his life following a tragic incident with a horse yesterday afternoon.
23-year-old Dylan Boggan was working at a stable near Fethard-on-Sea, when a horse kicked out at him.
The Mayglass native received severe injuries from the blow, and later passed away at Cork University Hospital, the Wexford People reports today.
That was despite the best efforts of National Ambulance Service paramedics, while the Rescue 117 helicopter was also dispatched to rush the young man to Cork.
Local doctors were also involved after the incident - which took place around half past one in the afternoon - however they were unable to bring the 23-year-old around, nor experts at the CUH later on that day.
Local Councillor and Ambulance Officer Ger Carthy commended the work of all at the scene in valiantly trying to save the man's life.
He also offered his thoughts to Dylan's friends and family, who were informed of the heartbreaking news yesterday afternoon.
