A woman in Australia is suing Aldi after she was injured when crowds rushed into a supermarket to buy discount TVs.
The 73-year-old woman fractured her hip after she was knocked to the ground at a store in Corio outside Melbourne in August of last year.
The woman's legal team said she needed surgery following the scuffle.
The Guardian reports the 73-year-old woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, is seeking compensation after she was allegedly struck by another customer's trolley and knocked to the ground during the heavily promoted sale at the store.
The woman also claims to suffer from bursitis, depression and anxiety since the fall.
The woman's legal team claim that Aldi failed to implement an orderly queueing system, failed to provide a safe premises for customers, and encouraged a "sense of urgency" at the store.
It is also alleged that staff failed to come to the woman's aid following the fall and that one customer lifted a trolly over the injured party in order to make their way through the store.
