A fireworks display to open the 66th Wexford Opera Festival has been postponed until November 5th due to public safety advice.
Due to the Yellow weather alert issued by Met Eireann, and based on the public safety advice from the statutory agencies, a joint decision was reached to postpone the display.
The event will take place instead on the closing night of the festival, Sunday 5 November at 8pm.
All arrangements will remain as before.
Organisers have confirmed that people with tickets to the viewing area on Wexford Quay will need to retain their tickets to gain for the display on November 5th.
As previously advised, access for the general public to other areas of the quay, including the public roadway and adjoining areas, will not be restricted and will not require a ticket.
No person will be denied access to the quays.
