A 48-year-old man who killed a dad of three on Christmas Eve has had his sentenced increased by a year on appeal.
David Shanley of Courtown Harbour, Gorey Co Wexford admitted stabbing John Lawlor at his home in 2014.
The victim was his partner’s ex-husband.
Shanley was sentenced to 5 years in prison with two and a half suspended but the State appealed this on the grounds that it was ‘unduly lenient.’
