A club statement read: "Wexford FC are thrilled to unveil the signing of Wexford man Ethan Boyle!

"Unquestionably one of the greatest players from County Wexford in recent decades - the former North End United man has starred for Finn Harps, Shamrock Rovers, and Waterford with over 200 senior appearances to his name already.

"A signing many Wexford fans have been dreaming of for many years, we will finally be fortunate to see Ethan Boyle lining out for his home county at Ferrycarrig Park in 2023."

Boyle is a Wexford Town native and like many players before him, has had the privilege of lining out for North End United.

He joins John Godkin, the new head of football operations and a North End great, having won every major trophy at the Junior level with the club.

"He reached the senior LOI in 2014 when he signed for Waterford United, before making the switch to Finn Harps in 2016," the club statement continued.

"After two seasons in Donegal, Boyle was signed for Shamrock Rovers where he excelled for three seasons.

"After a short stint with Linfield, he returned to Finn Harps for 2021 and 2022 where he again played a key role in the Premier Division campaigns.

"One of the biggest signings of the club's history, we can't wait for 2023 to begin!"

Previously speaking to SportsBeat, Wexford's new manager Keddy highlighted his desire for experience within his side: "A team is made up of different characters and different players.

"For the different positions, I'm looking for a little bit of experience down the spine of the team.

"My team will be very organised and very disciplined."

This new-look Wexford side is cultivating a dogged edge about and experience within the playoffs and the Premier Division.

Fans of the Black and Pink Brigade will be licking their lips at the prospect of a successful 2023 campaign.
