The Road Safety Authority (RSA) has asked road users to exercise caution while using the roads over the next 36 hours.
The caution comes as Met Éireann issue a status yellow wind warning for the south east counties of Wexford and Waterford .
Dublin, Louth, Wicklow, Meath, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, and Kerry are also expected to be affected by the inclement weather.
Winds with speeds up to 65 to 80 km/h are forecast, while gusts of 90 to 110 km/h are expected at times.
The RSA is asking road users to check local weather and traffic reports and to be aware of road conditions before setting out on any trip.
