The man with the washing machine, Enda O'Doherty is setting off on his journey to Mount Kilimanjaro this afternoon.
The Waterford man will travel to Tanzania with several others from Ireland in an attempt to raise funds and awareness for Pieta House by climbing to the top of the mountain.
O'Doherty aims to spread a positive mental health message through the symbolism of carrying a heavy hidden load and to bring awareness to the importance of asking for help and 'sharing the load'.
"There's a tonne of excitement and a tonne of nerves", he said before departing for Dublin Airport this afternoon.
"I'm absolutely terrified, excited and happy; we've raised €165,000 and we've managed to cover the cost of every person going out of our pockets.
"We've trained for a year for this, so there's some buzz here this afternoon".
