Waterford's coastal towns see property price surge in the past year

Property prices in towns across Waterford are continuing to rise and are expected to climb again by the end of the year.

A new survey from the Irish Independent revealed that the county's coastal areas were the most in demand with property in Tramore, Dungarvan and Dunmore East up by 12% on last year.

Residential Property Editor Mark Kennan says 'Dunmore East is the real hotspot where people are murdering each other to get their hands on property by the sea.'

Meanwhile, prices have also been hiked up in towns across the county and Waterford city itself with the price of a three  bed semi detached house up to €245,000 from €200,000 last year.

In contrast to this, homes in rural inland settings have remained relatively stable with a four bed bungalow in the countryside costing an average of €400,000 which is unchanged on the 2021 figure.
