A South East TD has tabled a Dáil motion in support of a University for the region.
Sinn Féin's David Cullinane has said any University for the South East must be "properly funded and resourced" with significant capital funding.
An application was due to be made for the joining of IT Carlow and Waterford IT last September but then stalled.
Deputy Cullinane says there's still no timeline in place for when the application for the 'Technological University for the South East' will be made:
The Sinn Fein spokesperson also stated that the multi-campus merger of IT Carlow and WIT must have its headquarters in Waterford.
