Independent TD John Halligan is the new Junior Minister for Training and Skills.
The Waterford TD was named among 15 junior ministers announced by Taoiseach Enda Kenny this evening.
The role will see Deputy Halligan work in the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
He was the only South East TD named in the list, which means there was no place for fellow Waterford TD John Deasy or Carlow-Kilkenny deputy John Paul Phelan.

It also means that big 5-seat constituencies such as Carlow-Kilkenny and Tipperary have been left without ministerial representation.
