A Waterford city tanning salon that defied laws against closing down has been shut by Gardaí.
Miami Tanning salon had claimed that COVID-19 could be killed by UV light, and that recent government measures were linked to the installation of '5G road lamps'.
Gardaí visited the premises and ordered the business be shut down, as it was contradicting laws which didn't include tanning salons on the list of essential services.
The salon had previously posted on their social media that there were reasons to suggest the virus was "one big lie on a global scale.
"Many are back to work so are we”.
On a further facebook post the salon said
"Thank you everyone for your support and don't let your freedom rights suspended by anything, government or social pressure.
"Peace and love and boom."
