A Waterford man has pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of his young daughter and the possession of child pornography.
He pleaded guilty to the charges in the Circuit Criminal Court last week.
According to the Munster Express, the man, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, is aged in his 50s.
The court heard the man had possession of videos of children engaging in a sexual act on January 24, 2015.

He also pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting his daughter on a date between January 1, 2014 and January 2015.
Judge Eugene O'Kelly ordered that the man's name be entered in the Register of Sex Offenders.
He remanded the man on bail to April 10 next, on condition that he has no contact with the injured party or her sibling.
