Update: Philip Harty has won the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon. Nollaigh O'Neill from Leevale was the first woman to cross the line.
Almost 35,000 women are set to run, walk or jog the VHI Mini Marathon in Dublin city centre today, and 10,000 are also taking part in the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon.
In Dublin, participants are raising funds for 870 charities, with aims to beat last year's record of nearly €6m.
The 10km race starts at 2pm on Lower Baggot Street and finishes at Fitzwilliam Place.
CEO of the Women's Mini Marathon is Cathy Enderson said: "The money is for all different causes and charities. We don't support any one particular charity - we allow everyone to pick their own."
