A nun from Cappoquin is among 40 women taking part in a silage cutting competition in County Waterford today!
The fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of Ireland is taking place at Mount Mellary Farm.
The all-female crew will mow, rake and draw 30 acres of silage - and hope their efforts will earn them a place in the Guinness World Record Books.
The group will attempt to set a record for the quickest time to harvest 30 acres of silage.
The event also shows the vital role that Irish women play in the country’s agricultural industry.

John O'Brien from Cappoquin IS one of the organisers of the fundraiser, he told Beat about the women involved:
"They're aged from 72 right down to 17, it just took off, they all just jumped on the bandwagon and got involved."
"I happened to say it to my good friend Sister Lily one day and she said she'd like to take part and support the event but would have to get permission from the Reverend Mother, so I called to see the Reverend Mother and she said if the sister wants to take part she doesn't have any problem with that."
Events kick off at 10.30am and entrance costs 10 euro for adults and children are free.
