Proposals to temporarily lay off four operational staff at Waterford Airport from next Monday have now been put on hold.
It comes as trade union UNITE balloted their members this morning on industrial action in relation to the proposals to lay-off staff.
The trade union had described a statement by Waterford Airport as "unacceptable" after it announced that four of it's staff were to be temporarily let go.
UNITE had warned that members will refuse to work additional hours to replace the missing staff.
UNITE Regional Officer Tony Kelly last week accused management of "incompetence" in failing to check that the proposed new service by Air Southeast had a tour operator's license.
That failure to get the license has resulted in the service's suspension and the layoffs.
