Waterford Regional Airport is set to resume flights in what is a major boost for the South East region.
The flights, which will resume on Monday July 24th, will serve three UK hubs. These include London Luton, Birmingham and Manchester.
The reopening of Waterford Airport to passenger air travel will coincide with the launch of a new aviation start-up - Aer Southeast.
Registered at a Waterford Airport office, Aer Southeast boasts considerable experience in regional aviation, along with the backing of Irish and Scandinavian investors.
All new flights from Waterford Airport will be serviced by this new start-up airline.
Six flights a week will operate to London Luton, three to Birmingham, and a further three to Manchester.
Flight prices kick off at €79 each-way.
Bookings can be made for London Luton via the Waterford Airport website, www.flywaterford.com as well as the direct link www.aersoutheast.com, from 9am tomorrow (Tuesday, June 20).
Bookings for Manchester and Birmingham on the Aer Southeast website will be available in the coming days and this will be communicated via official social media channels.
Welcoming the announcement, Desmond O'Flynn, CEO of Waterford Airport, said: “I am delighted that Aer Southeast will resume three scheduled air services to the UK, all of which have proved their worth and their vital importance to the South East over many years.”
