Irish Water, working in partnership with Waterford City and County Council wishes to advise that repairs to a burst water main will cause supply interruptions to Shanbally Upper, Melleray Road, Cappoquin surrounding areas in Co. Waterford today.
In a statement to Beat News, Irish Water say an alternative water supply will be available at the Primary School, Bunscoil Gleann Sidheain and at Tourin GAA Club Car Park from 2pm on May 12th until 2pm on May 13th.
"Irish Water make every effort to ensure that the alternative drinking water supply provided, including the tanker/bowser, and dispensing tap, are adequately disinfected.
"However, as it is not practical to provide sterilised containers for the public to transport drinking water from the tanker to their homes, we cannot guarantee that any containers used by the public do not negatively impact or contaminate the drinking water and therefore advise boiling the water.
"Works are scheduled to take place until 6pm on May 12th.
Irish Water recommend that you allow 2-3 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Irish Water receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
