A wanted criminal was arrested and returned to prison after he was caught drink driving in Waterford last night.
Gardai were conducting a drink driving exercise with checkpoints set up across the country this weekend.
The man was stopped at a checkpoint in Waterford and he attempted to give a fake name in an effort to avoid detection.
However, Gardai soon discovered that the man had previously been disqualified from driving and was "unlawfully at large." He was taken into custody and returned to prison.
