Travel agents in the south east are seeing a lot of people booking holidays to the US as travel to the States resumes tomorrow.
From tomorrow [8th November], those that are fully vaccinated, have a covid cert and a negative PCR test are allowed to travel to America as normal.
Speaking to Beat News, Bladhna Richardson of American Holidays in Waterford clarified the guidelines on who can travel to America and what they need;
"Adults over the age of 18 must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before travel and have a negative PCR test. That also applies to children over the age of 2 years old, so they must have a negative PCR test within the three days before travelling.
"All of the airlines are collecting all of that evidence, they will be required to collect the vaccination status and negative PCR tests prior to boarding at the airport and then obviously all of the other ESTA and visa requirements are still necessary.
Then coming home you just need to complete the passenger locator form which is on the gov.ie website and it's very simple to do."
Bladhna says people haven't waited to book a trip and they have high volumes of people looking to travel stateside particularly with Thanksgiving on the horizon.
"We've seen a lot of customers getting in touch looking to book trips into 2022 but also before Christmas so yeah people are really looking forward to getting away to the US from the get go of when it opens up on November 8th."
