Comedian Josh Pray says he won't commentate on the All-Ireland Football final replay this weekend after being targeted by online trolls.
Speaking to RTE's Liveline, Pray said that he visited Ireland after being invited over by the Irish Tourism Board after his videos on Irish GAA games went viral.
However, when Pray managed to get a ticket to the final which he likened to that of the tickets in Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he was subjected to negative comments.
Pray, who said he sees himself as a comedian on the internet as opposed to 'internet comedian', admitted being shocked at the negative reaction by some individuals, but insisted that they "don't speak for the majority of Ireland."
Pray was also surprised at the reaction to his annoucnement of taking a break, describing it as "phenomenal" and that his phone battery "can't take it anymore from the notifications" urging him not to give in to the negativity.
Some of the commenters called Pray 'opportunisitc' and implied that his ticket should have gone to a more 'die-hard' fan.
"Just because you haven't liked something since birth, doesn't mean you cant like it as an adult," said Pray.
"My focus is just to bring joy to people," he added.
