University Hospital Waterford is currently experiencing unprecedented Emergency Department demand.
A statement from the hospital released this morning reads;
As always, UHW continues to treat all patients presenting with emergency care requirements as expeditiously as possible.
In order that all persons requiring emergency care can continue to be treated in an appropriate and timely manner UHW is asking that members of the public should only attend the ED where absolutely necessary, and where no other treatment options are available through GP or Community Care Services.
