In recent days additional water quality samples have been taken at the beaches for further analysis. The results of these latter tests are expected in the coming days at which stage the bathing prohibition notices will be reviewed.
Bathing water quality results for 2017 to date at all of Wexford’s identified bathing beaches have been excellent. There is no obvious cause for these recent poor bathing water quality results, though recent spells of heavy rain may have been a contributing factor, and the Council’s technical staff are currently investigating the matter.
