Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after the accidents in Limerick and Tipperary.
A man in his 60's was fatally injured when he was knocked down by a car at Hospital village at about 1 a.m.
He was rushed to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead.
The stretch of road is currently closed to allow a forensic examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses to contact them at Bruff station.
At around 2am, a second man - in his 30's - died in a crash on the N52 in Co Tipperary.
He died when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a fence at Ardcroney.
He was the only occupant of the car.
His body has been removed to UHL.
Gardai have closed the road and diversions are in place.
