Two men have been arrested in Kilkenny in connection with a seizure of cocaine worth €50,000.
According to a Garda spokesperson the arrests were made "as part of ongoing investigations by the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau targeting serious criminal activity".
They say that two vehicles were stopped in Kilkenny City on Thursday 5th April 2018 at approximately 7.30pm.
During the stop and search operation, cocaine with an estimated value of €50,000 was seized.
Two males, both aged in their late 30’s, were arrested for drug trafficking offences.
One of the men is from Kilkenny, the other is from Dublin.
Follow up searches were conducted at addresses in Kilkenny and Dublin with the assistance of the Kilkenny Divisional Drug Unit.
Both arrested persons are currently detained at Kilkenny Garda Station under the provision of section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
