Two drivers arrested in Carlow for drug driving while going to "exercise ponies"

Carlow Gardaí arrested two drivers over the weekend after they tested positive for drugs.

A number of vehicles were stopped on the Dublin Road who were intending on exercising ponies yesterday morning.

2 drivers tested positive for drugs including Cocaine and Cannabis.

1 vehicle was seized as the driver only had a provisional license and no tax.

A file will be prepared for the DPP in relation to unnecessary journeys.
