An investigation is under way in the small village of Johnswell after an elderly couple were found dead in their home.
The cause of the couple’s deaths has not been established, however it is understood that carbon monoxide poisoning may be the cause.
The bodies of the 83-year old man and 79-year-old woman were discovered yesterday evening.
Gardaí are currently at the scene on the Johnswell Road and the State Pathologist has been informed.
The bodies are expected to be removed to University Hospital Waterford later today.
