The trial of former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs gets underway today after various delays.
The former footballer's denied three charges relating to attacking and controlling his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville between August 2017 and November 2020.
The 48-year-old stood down as Wales manager last month, saying he did not want to 'destabilise' World Cup preparations.
Sports Journalist based in Manchester Peter Hall says the Jury will be sworn in today.
"Should Giggs be found guilty of coercive and controlling behaviour, it carries a maximum prison sentence of five years.
"The judge has said that the trial is scheduled to last two weeks but it could run into a third week as well.
"The Jury is sworn in today and the prosecution, lead by Peter Reich QC , opens the cases."
