Planning your family trips has become even more complicated due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions you need to take into consideration before you take off.
With travel back again and countries opening up for the first time in two years, now is the perfect time to enjoy a fabulous sunny holiday. That's according to RSVP Live.
They say that one important thing to consider is what the travel guidelines are for your destination of choice.
Popular locations like Spain, Portugal and other EU countries still have travel restrictions in place, so you should be aware of what documents you need to have prepared before departing.
Spain
If you hold a valid vaccination certificate issued by EU authorities such as the Digital COVID EU Certificate, then you can enter Spain with no restrictions.
However, you must have completed your primary vaccination series or gotten a booster shot within the last nine months or 270 days.
If you are unvaccinated then you must provide proof of recovery within the last six months or show a negative test result to enter the country
Travellers will need to fill out a Health Control Form, regardless of their vaccination status.
Portugal
If you plan on holidaying in Portugal, then you must fill out a Passenger Locator Card before departure
To enter Portugal you must either hold a European Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent valid proof of full vaccination at least 14 days and no more than 270 days prior to travel
You can also provide valid proof of recovery from Covid-19. Tests that are accepted are PCR tests (taken within 72 hours of departure) or a Rapid Antigen test taken within 24 hours of departure. Self-administered home antigen tests are not accepted, Only Rapid Antigen Tests that are on the list agreed by the European Union Health Committee are allowed.
